It's such a fabulous place... full of bags and accessories... that no woman would want to leave.It's a Museum of Bags and Purses is located in Amsterdam, Netherlands and it's dedicated to bags that have been designed since the medieval times. This museum has an impressive collection of over 4,000 various well designed bags and it is a Mecca for women and individuals passionate by purses. It is one of three museums in the world where such items are exposed.
The Museum of Bags and Purses was started in the 1800's and is the result of an impressive collection that Hendrikje Ivo gathered for nearly 35 years. She saw the first handbag in 1820 and became fascinated by its appearance.
She wanted to show the world a part of her collection and opened two rooms of her house as a small public museum. As the collection grew, it found a new location, in one of the most prestigious canals in Amsterdam.
